I've raised £500 to honour Captain Tom’s memory and raise money for two amazing causes by walking 100k in 5 days.

During the Covid-19 pandemic Captain Tom took on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspired millions to donate more.
In memory of Captain Tom many people will be completing the Captain Tom 100 challenge to raise money for charities all over the country and I want to do my part.
As a keen walker I have always enjoyed being outside and you’ll often find me ambling through the countryside. I have completed walks for many different reasons in the past including raising money for charities. This time I am walking 100k in 5 days in memory of Captain Tom while raising money for two causes close to heart. Any money raised will be split evenly between both in memory of Captain Tom.
The first is The Great North Air Ambulance who bring pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year. They are not NHS-funded and are there for every one of us.
The second is for is my local village primary school who despite budget restrictions have ensured all children could access online provision remotely. They are currently raising money for essential computing equipment and it would be great to support them.
I will start walking on Friday 30th April (which would have been Captain Tom’s 101st birthday) and will complete 100k by Tuesday 4th May. Any sponsors will be greatly appreciated by myself, my chosen charity and my local primary school.
Thank you in advance.
Malcolm
