Story

On Saturday the 18th of August Sami, Michael and friends will be walking to help raise as much as possible. This will cover some of the costs of alternative treatments and organic foods for Sumner.

The 18.37 mile route will start at 8:00am from K2 in Crawley to Horsted Keynes railway Station (9.1 Miles) returning to k2 Via the Worth Way (9.27 miles). A short rail trip on the Bluebell line will connect Horsted Keynes to the Worth Way at East Grinstead and is not part of the walk mileage.

Sumner Malik, one of a triplet and one of the brightest and bubbliest young squash players alive, was diagnosed two years ago as having Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). DIPG is a terminal, paediatric form of brain tumour.

A DIPG tumour is not a solid, well-defined mass like some tumours. Instead, the tumour cells grow out into other tissue and mix with healthy cells. There are only 40 cases of DIPG diagnosed a year in the UK but every one of those is a tragedy with no confirmed cure and a non-existent survival rate. We would like to make a difference with your help. Please give what you can. Thank you.

**Important Update**

Sadly Sumner passed away yesterday 11.08.18 at 2:15pm. Our sincerest condolences to his family. Sami and Michael will still be walking on Saturday in memory and honour of Sumner. All donations will go to Sumners family.
