I'm raising £500 to give back to the school William loved

Story

In memory of my beautiful boy William, I, along with my best friend Rick, will be walking over 100 miles from his home in Liverpool to my family home in Doncaster to raise money for the school that meant so much to William and to our family.

William was the centre of mine and Leonie's world. Leonie is William's mum, and together we were blessed to have the most amazing little boy. He brought so much love, happiness, laughter and personality into our lives, and losing him has changed us forever. We miss him every single day.

One of the places William was happiest was at his school, Northridge Community School.

The care, patience, understanding and support they gave him was truly life-changing for us as a family. They didn't just see William as another pupil — they understood him, cared about him and helped him thrive. They celebrated every achievement, supported him through every challenge and gave him a place where he felt safe, happy and valued.

As parents, seeing William happy and excited to go to school each morning meant everything to us.

The support the school gave didn't just help William — it helped us too. Through difficult times they were a source of reassurance, kindness and stability that we will never forget.

Most importantly of all, William absolutely loved his school.

That is why we wanted to do something meaningful in his memory and give something back to the place that gave our son so much happiness, support and encouragement.

Over several days in August, Rick and I will walk more than 100 miles across the Pennines from Liverpool to Doncaster. Every mile will be walked for William.

All money raised will go towards supporting Northridge Community School and helping other children and families benefit from the same care, opportunities and kindness that meant so much to ours.

This walk will be physically and emotionally challenging, but William is worth every single step.

If you are able to donate, no matter how small, thank you. Your support will help us honour William's memory in a meaningful and lasting way while helping a school that made such a huge difference to his life and ours.

Thank you for reading, for your support, and for helping us remember our wonderful boy, William.
