We are looking to raise up to £35,000 for two very special local charities.
On Saturday 20th June, approximately 150 lads & lasses - all with connections to the city of Portsmouth, will be walking close to 14 miles around Portsea Island to raise money and awareness for this years two selected organisations:
The first charity is CONNORS TOY LIBRARY. Established since 1973 with its headquarters in Portsea, they run weekly events across 11 places in the city, including Anchorage Park, Buckland & Somerstown.
They build community through connection and play via its toy store, dedicated family outreach, and Stay & Play sessions in spaces where children and families learn, grow, and thrive together.
Walk The Island are looking to raise £20/25,000 for Connors Toy Library to build their own Sensory Room which will be available to all families in Portsmouth.
The second charity is the PORTSMOUTH & SOUTHSEA LIFEGUARDS who have been established since 1933 and provide a critical service to the whole of the local community and also to all the visitors who visit Southsea sea front. There no.1 objective is to Save Lives at Sea.
Walk The Island are looking to raise between £5/10,000 to add and to update to their current equipment including helmets, lifejackets, radio’s and a weather station.
