Story
NCEA Warkworth Primary loves Forest School and we’ve had so many wonderful experiences in the forest and the pupils love it ! Sadly, our Forest School site has been burned down and completely destroyed on purpose . The police have now completed their investigations and no one has admitted their part, offered to clean up or help to restore the site .
The site is covered in smashed bottles with barrels of empty alcohol bottles; the fire pit, shelters/ dens and seating areas have also been burned down and it is now too dangerous for pupils to visit .
Over the years a lot of time and effort by staff, parents and pupils has been put into the site and we were devastated to see how it has been used over lockdown and now ruined.
This page has been put together for two reasons . The first, to ask for financial help so we can rebuild the Forest School site on school grounds where we know it is safe.
The second, to see if any adults would like to get involved with helping us to clean up the existing site (within covid restrictions).
If you’d like to help in anyway, please get in touch !
#Strive Together as One
Forest School wish list : rebuild fire pit and seating area, woodland corner, wood work area, treehouse, den building area, clear out bottom of the field and plant trees ready to have a Forest School area on site. Wooden logs, large stones and fencing to secure site areas .
We understand that we won‘t be able to buy everything initially, but this is our long term wishlist.
Thank you for taking the time to read our Just Giving Page.
