Warrington Rowing Club — 24-Hour Sponsored Row
Supporting Physical and Mental Wellbeing – Together
Warrington Rowing Club is hosting a 24-hour sponsored row from 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, 28th December to 8:00 a.m. on Monday, 29th December. The funds raised will be shared between three local organisations that support the physical and mental wellbeing of our local community.
This fundraiser celebrates the power of physical activity, community, and connection to support body and mind. Now more than ever, wellbeing—mental and physical—matters. We’re raising funds for three organisations that use sport, teamwork, and support to build confidence, resilience, and hope on and off the water.
50% of the funds raised will be equally shared between PAPYRUS and All Aboard Youth Rowing and 50% will help support Warrington Rowing Club. Three organisations working in different ways towards the same goal: helping people feel stronger, more connected and supported in life.
PAPYRUS – Prevention of Young Suicide
Charity number 1070896
PAPYRUS is the UK charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people. Formed by parents bereaved by suicide in Warrington in 1997, and now operating throughout the UK, its vital work offers hope to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide and provides practical support to those concerned for others. Through their helpline (HOPELINE247), education, and community outreach, PAPYRUS helps save lives and spread a message of hope.
All Aboard Youth Rowing
Charity number 1176153
All Aboard Youth Rowing, founded in Warrington in 2016, uses the power of rowing to help young people build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging. By opening up access to a traditionally exclusive sport, they give young people from all backgrounds the chance to develop physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, and discipline - all while having fun on the water. Currently giving almost 500 young people every week from schools across the region, the opportunity to attend their local rowing club as part of their school curriculum, AAYR relies on funding and donations to continue to have a positive, life changing impact on local young people.
Warrington Rowing Club
Warrington Rowing Club is more than just a sports club - it’s a community. Run by dedicated volunteers, it provides a welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities to discover rowing, stay active, and connect with others. The club supports both the physical and mental wellbeing of its members, encouraging teamwork, friendship, and a shared love of being out on the water.
We warmly welcome your support in this venture. Every donation helps us expand and improve our offer at Warrington Rowing Club, providing more opportunities to benefit from the sport’s physical, social, and emotional rewards. And your generosity also enables us to help two incredible local charities Papyrus and All Aboard Youth Rowing.
Your donation - big or small - will help more people access the benefits of sport, support, and connection, and ensure that vital mental health services remain available for those who need them most. Together, we can make a lasting difference - on and off the water.
