    Story

Warrington (Crosfields) Transporter bridge is the only rail transporter bridge amongst the remaining 8 transporter bridges left in the world. The Friends of Warrington Transporter Bridge was founded in April 2015 and we have succeeded in interesting over 1000 people on Facebook to 'Like' us. We need more publicity to get more people on board to ensure that this unique structure is preserved. We have a constitution and are properly managed by a Committee but we need money for banners and leaflets to tell more people about the bridge and ensure it is there for future generations to admire and understand their industrial heritage. Even as little as £1 would help, especially if all those who 'Liked' the page were able to donate.

      Update from the Page owner

Huge thanks to everyone who given money to publicise the bridge. We have raised more than expected & will have a meeting soon to plan the most effective way of using it. Please come to Lymm Transport Day on 26 June or the Event in Bank Park on 18 Sept and see what we are doing.

Thank you so much. I thought this was a long shot, I never expected to raise £200. It shows that there are people out there who cherish our industrial heritage and want it to be there for future generations. This great boost will spur us on to greater efforts. Thanks again.

Thank you to all who have donated so far. Rest assured that all the money will be spent to further recognition of this iconic structure. See our facebook page Save Warrington Transporter Bridge for a photo of one of the locomotives 'Persil' that was used with the bridge.
