Story

Washington Boxing Club is a Registered Charity (1185025) and an all inclusive boxing club which is becoming an integral part of the local community. We work with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. We have strong links with the local Council and schools working with young people who may be facing a variety of challenges in their lives.

We also help support large sections of the Armed Forces Community and have members of the Services who are either still active or have retired. I am supported by an extremely hard working group of volunteer coaches who work closely together to generate an atmosphere of bonding between themselves and not only our competitive amateur boxers but also everyone who enters our premises.

The over-riding purpose of the Club is to provide a safe and secure environment where all people but particularly the young can come and develop themselves into mature individuals who can have life skills that will set them up for their futures.

Boxing provides not only physical benefits but also mental health prosperity. It provides structure and discipline and creates a path that many young people might otherwise not take.

What will your money go towards:

We are looking to create an area within our premises which will become a safe space. Young people can take advantage of guidance from our Welfare Officer, our Coaches. They can work on school studies or even just relax. Not all of them have this opportunity in their homes.

Please donate any amount that you can. It will make a huge difference to our young people, many of whom have had limited opportunities in their lives.
