Story
Watford Peace Hospice is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients and families facing a life limiting illness, by providing essential care and support in the setting of their choice. With over 1500 families requiring support every year, fundraising plays a huge role in aiding the Peace Hospice’s crucial role in the local community. As a club Watford has many members and their families, both past and present, who have benefited immensely from the Hospice’s care and professionalism over the years. We feel it would be fitting to contribute something in return.
As well as raising money for the Peace Hospice, we are also raising much needed funds to upgrade the facilities within our clubhouse – namely, the bathrooms which are in desperate need of a facelift. Our clubhouse not only provides a facility for the players and supporters of Watford RFC, but is also a key hub for events within the local community. The main clubhouse and bar area have benefitted from extensive renovations over the last year, we now need restroom facilities to match!
In order to raise much needed funds for two very worthy causes, a group of WRFC club members will be undertaking the London leg of Rough Runner on Saturday 8th September. All donations, no matter how great or small, are very much appreciated.
