Watford Ladies FC is an all-female football club based in Watford, attracting girls and ladies from north London, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. We are a non-profit making Community Amateur Sports Club and although supported by Watford FC in the past, this link no longer exists. This year we celebrate our 50th anniversary of developing female football at all levels stemming from grassroots through to women’s professional football at the highest level. As a club we have in excess of 250 female players ranging from 8yrs of age up to open aged women’s football. Working with the FA we have championed the promotion of the physical, mental and emotional development of our players as well as providing a strong educational element linked with a pathway to women’s professional football at the highest level. By supporting us, you will be supporting Health Promotion by;

• Supporting health through sport and exercise • Providing an excellent environment for the development of body and mind • Engaging in our efforts to reduce obesity in youth • Challenging social media by providing a solid framework for real relationships • Championing activities that build confidence, strength of character and leadership.

You will also be supporting our drive to improve women’s equality in sport and more specifically in football, where we see huge disparities in opportunities and outcomes. Due to COVID-19 we have been unable to host a number of annual fundraising events including our Summer Tournament, one of the largest all female football tournaments in the country, which would usually help support the club financially. At the same time, we have increased our programme significantly increasing the provision of health and welfare, educational options and support for those in hardship. Looking towards the future our passion is to increase access to our programmes boosting the health, confidence and welfare of many more girls creating an environment where women and girls thrive, rising to and overcome the inequalities they face every day. We are looking for your support to help us deliver these invaluable opportunities for growth and development to many more women and girls for many more years to come whilst also enabling us to increase the educational and psychological elements of our programme. We are in uncertain times and understand as much as we struggle financially, our members, supporters and general public are too. However, what we can promise you is that every penny you donate to our programme will go 100% towards delivering the benefits highlighted above, thanks to the amazing contributions of our many volunteers.
