These two local IOW charities have seen a reduction in locally generated funding during the pandemic due to a number of fundraising events being cancelled. A group of cyclists are planning to cycle around the IOW to raise awareness and much needed funding for these two charities that are fundamental to the local community.
The Wave Project helps young people to reduce anxiety and improve confidence through surfing! Their award winning surf courses are proven to help clients feel calmer, more motivated and better about their future. Take a look at the Wave Project.
Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat operates a 24 \ 7 emergency service, they receive no funding from government and are NOT affiliated with the RNLI. They rely entirely on fundraising activities and donations like these.

On 16th July 21 starting in East Cowes, they will take on a route that circumnavigates the island in a clockwise direction taking in the full stunning beauty of this majestic, yet deceptively rugged, island. As the route heads inland, they'll face several climbs as they cross the central downs of the island before heading back to the coast for stunning views across the cliffs.
• Covering a distance of over 100km (105km in total).
• Completing an entire loop of the island.
• Ascending over 1400m across the whole route.
