I'm raising £5000 to support Waymaker Trust in Chin State, Myanmar

Organised by Hannah

Story

Waymaker Trust works with remote communities in Chin State, Myanmar, through education, healthcare, women's empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. Small, sustained gifts help children learn, mothers give birth safely and families grow their own food.

Education: Waymaker Learning Centre

Founded in 2025, the Learning Centre gives 150 children from rural villages the chance to keep learning at a time when schools are closed in many places throughout the country.

Healthcare: protecting wellbeing

The community clinic serves people in remote areas where reliable healthcare is scarce. It supports essential medicines and supplies, malaria, dengue and typhus testing and prevention, and community health education.

Women's empowerment: strengthening livelihoods

Offering tailoring training, and helping women set up small tailoring businesses with sewing machines they repay as they earn. Women trained in sewing also help produce Dignity Kits and Clean Delivery Kits for mothers and newborns.

Sustainable livelihoods: meeting basic needs

Supporting local food production, chemical-free farming practices and a demonstration farm, so families can grow nutritious food and earn an income from their land.
