Story

Sadly on the 13th May 2021 we lost our beloved Wayne to an aggresive rare form of cancer, that he was diagnosed with on the 27th January 2021. Wayne courageously fought for 106 days, he endured intense chemotherapy, radical surgery and radiotherapy. Our darling Wayne showed exceptional strength and bravery throughout this short tragic fight. Wayne was a healthy and fit 51 year old man, a non drinker and smoker that run 8K a day. Wayne has left behind a heartbroken Fiancé, Carly, 3 beautiful daughters, Melissa, Nadine and Fleur and 2 beautiful step children, Bailey and Jude and his furry baby, Ralph.

Wayne and his family spent many weeks in and out of UCLH hospital where no further treatment could be offered and Wayne was given only 2 weeks to live. As a family, we decided to bring Wayne home so he was surrounded by family, comfort and love where he spent 3 precious weeks with us all. Sadly Wayne deteriorated and a second tumour had developed. On the 27th April we took Wayne to the Margaret Centre Hospice in Whipps Cross Hospital where Wayne spent his last 2 weeks of his life surrounded by family and love. The Margaret Centre gave us a safe, calm and serene space for Wayne with an exceptional team of nurses which brought great comfort to our Family at this difficult time. Carly, Melissa and Ralph (the dog) stayed every night with Wayne to be by his side and care for him 24/7 along with lots of family and friend visits. This wonderful centre offered us some light in the darkness. We would all like to give back to this amazing Pallative team and Hospice to help and support other families - this would be Waynes wishes.

All donations will be gratefully received for this amazing Charity run Hospice. We are truly grateful for the Margaret Centre.

Much love and light - god bless our hero!

Carly, Melissa, Nadine, Fleur, Bailey & Jude x
