Story
The Bumble Bees Mixed Ability Rugby Union team were Englands first full contact mixed ability rugby union team. Originally helped and inspired by their Welsh counterparts, The Llanelli Warriors, the Bumbles have grown over the last ten years to become leading ambassadors in the world of Mixed Ability rugby. The game is played by players who have conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Autism, Learning Difficulties as well as fully able bodied players. The game is, at the players request, full contact rugby union with only minor concessions made.
My son Ryan, who has Downs Syndrome has played for the team since it's formation and I'm raising money to help fund him and his team mates for a tour to Cork, in Ireland later this year. Ryan and his team mates face many challenges in life, not least financial, so to help facilitate them I'm competing in the Mumbai Rikshaw Challenge. It's a 2000 kilometre tuk-tuk race across India. I'll be competing against up to 20 other racers. Every penny raised here will go towards the Bumbles so please give what you can afford to support these fantastic lads!
