Story
After doing some researches, i quickly realised the high demand of sporting activities within the borough of Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlet. I found out that majority of people are unable to participate most sporting activities because of the cost, the time and lack of facilities within the area.
According to NHS, obesity among year 6 students (age 11) is higher in most London boroughs than it is in England on average. Moreover, it is rising almost everywhere. In Southwark, Barking and Dagenham, Hackney, Westminster, Greenwich and Lambeth, over a quarter of 11 year olds are obese.
These statistics are really traumatising because it is estimated that the proportion of people classified as obese in England could rise to 48% of men and 43% of women by 2030.
Generally speaking, poorer boroughs have higher levels of obesity. Though Southwark may not be the poorest borough in London, it is still above average in terms of child poverty. Moreover, Barking and Hackney, where obesity levels are also very high, have some of the highest rates of child poverty in the capital.
Because of these traumatising statistics, i came up with an innovative idea through the introduction of more sporting activities around the community that will help reduce developing chances of obesity and any heart diseases. By making the cost of sporting activities affordable for everyone and creating more activities that could work around people's time in order to make it more time efficient for the community.
Researches also found that sports programs also aids to the reduction of crimes and creates more positive opportunities for people around the community, education and employability.
I also found out that niche sports (meaning grassroots sports or unrecognised professional sports) are unrecognised and need to be more recognised in order to encourage young talents and teams who dreams to pursue a career in sports, especially the women's sports. we aim to use media and live streaming coverages to promote niche sport events.
We aim to set up and deliver a high quality sporting activities for all customers and organisations around the community, be a sub-contractor to other youth organisations and provide recognition to niche and non-televised sporting events.
Many thanks for taking your time to read and support. lets make our community a better place to live in.
regards,
