Story
West Drayton Young People's Centre (WDYPC) is a safe place for many vulnerable young people in the local community and gives them an opportunity to learn and gain accredited qualifications in mechanics.
WDYPC works in partnership with Hillingdon Community Trust to run a number of evening sessions for local young people and their families. Courses such as car and bicycle maintenance are offered to young people who would otherwise be on the streets.
Sadly, a few weeks ago there was a fire at the centre and as a result, the motor mechanics workshop, its vehicles, equipment and projects the young people were working on were all destroyed.
The centre has now reopened, but unfortunately the young people are unable to work towards their qualifications without the equipment and vehicles needed to aide them.
We are looking for sponsorship and/or donations of old cars to use in the motor mechanics workshop to get this invaluable community resource up and running again.
To donate cars or equipment, or for more information, please contact Zahir on 01895 447 102 or ZVirmani@theskillshub.org
