I've raised £3000 to add a little sparkle to a local school by giving every child the gift of a book and a selection box of chocolate.

It is that time of year when children are becoming excited in schools with nativity plays and concerts being rehearsed, and thoughts of Christmas and the perpetual Christmas present wish lists being created by children. Whilst in the perfect world all children would be showered with gifts and presents at this time of year, unfortunately this is not always the case.
So, with this in mind and in conjunction with Plymouth Children In Poverty and the various supporters like yourselves that we gather along the way, we at Brunel have decided to add a little sparkle and cheer to a local school in the Plymouth area by fundraising and hopefully with your support reaching our target of being able to give every child at the school the gift of a book and a selection box of chocolate.
We are mindful that a huge wave of support from all sectors has been directed to the Keyham area and rightly so as the community navigates their way through the horror of the Summer. We mustn't forget that children from many areas within Plymouth face financial, aspirational and just about any and every barrier you can imagine. The pandemic has exacerbated the area of literacy, with many children falling even further behind their peers. Let us not forget, this is not because the children cannot...this is not because they will not. They simply need a helping hand; one they will happily grab and benefit from!
This year our chosen school is Riverside Primary School, so we are reaching out to our customers and suppliers to make a financial contribution and support us to make a difference to some local children at this time of year.
The team at Brunel Recycling would like to take the opportunity to thank you for reading this email and supporting our fundraising initiative, in addition to wishing you all a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
