We are Leeds DynaMix- a small vibrant , peer-led community group of, for and by young people from around the world, Primarily people of diverse ethnicities, some with refugee backgrounds and some with other migrant experiences; working together in a space where we are like family; where older peers can walk their young peers through the journey and struggle for settlement, inclusion and acceptance. Together, we know what it feels like to be marginalised, dehumanised and discriminated against. We hope to remain a community based on collectivity, equity and equality, opportunities for learning, sharing, coming together to explore, understand and take actions to address important issues affecting our lives. Leeds DynaMix is run by people volunteering their time to make our collective dreams come to fruition. We exist under the umbrella of Leeds Christian Community Trust and Our core values are:

- To promote unity, love and a sense of family amongst ourselves

- To put a sense of belonging, trust, dynamism and diversity in the heart of everything we do

Leeds DynaMix although primarily for people that have migrated but is always opened to anyone that supports and believes in our values. Anyone that wants to explore and take action to address the issues faced by young people with refugee and migrant backgrounds such as isolation, bullying, food poverty, unsettlement, language needs, mental health difficulties and learning to navigate our lives through the system that is alien to some of us . We aim use arts as a tool to address and explore our issues and fun, food & friendship as a tool build relationships and engage young people in a way that is real, in a way that builds confidence. Our Past activities and work includes going away to the countryside for some focused work, dance workshops, African drumming session, participating in the carnival, collective spoken word, issues based workshops around Discrimination, Stigma, Prejudice, Privileges and the use of Languages - this is much needed when we are increasingly surrounded by Xenophobia. We have found that creating a platform in which these issues are explored without judgement enables members to have their own informed opinions, become better advocates for self and others. For us Leeds DynaMix has been a space where we can dream dreams and make them happen. Soon we will be and want to be working on/ participating in:

- A summer holiday food and Wellbeing Project.

- The Leeds West Indian Carnival again this year - joining HB Mama Dread’s troupe

- Exploring the countryside in the UK

- Looking at a upscaling project that will also be a source of income for Leeds DynaMix

- Arts and Wellbeing Centred Residential Workshops

We want to appeal to your generous and humanistic spirit to make make some of these activities happen. We are asking for money to go towards the following costs:

- £500 for Food - £20-£30 will feed up to 15 people per session/per week, working out an an average of £1.60 per person for a warm cooked meal.

- £750 for bus tickets for up to 23 young people for 7 months ( £4.90 from Leeds and Wakefield will enable a young person to access a session per session)

- £600 for Extra Curricular Activities taking place around Leeds like Leeds African Cup of Nations, Drumming for wellbeing, Dance Workshops , Leeds West indian carnival - includes participation Fees, equipment, space hire and etc
