Rubies is a brand new charity supporting girls across the Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland area. (currently south Bank and grangetown)

The target areas have been ranked the most disadvantaged and Rubies wants to make a change to these statistics , while having a positive impact and enabling change to lives of those who need it .

We aim to help young girls increase self-esteem, build resilience and make safer choices by providing relevant courses and mentoring in order to help them recognise their true worth.

Rubies run a unique 10 week programmes in a local primary school with the Year 6 girls who are about to transition to secondary school. Rubies work with the girls to help them feel more confident and recognise their individual gifts and strengths. As part of the programme we gave each girl a free ‘Self Care Goodie Bag’ to help them take care of their mental and physical health and personal hygiene.

Rubies would also like to contribute to expenses for our experienced volunteers who give their time to work with the young girls.
