WEDMORE TENNIS CLUB – NEW ‘LED’ FLOODLIGHTS

The are a number of reasons why we need to replace the existing floodlights at Wedmore Tennis Club. They are at the end of their design life and expensive to maintain. They are often faulty and difficult to repair, which means bulbs are often out of use and this impacts on play. They are not environmentally friendly and they cost a fortune to run.

Our aim is to raise the funds needed to purchase and install new modern LED floodlights. We know this new design will be far more efficient, better for our planet and our future.

The new LED lights will be much cheaper to run, we should be able to reduce our energy bills by 55%. This reduction in one of our main club expenses will also allow us to be more competitive with our annual membership charges. This year we have seen a significant drop in membership numbers, probably attributed to the cost-of-living crisis. As a tennis club we need to do everything possible to increase participation and keep membership as affordable as we can.

We plan to try to raise the bulk of the overall cost via grants, however, we will not achieve the final figure without making our own contribution. We aim to raise at least 10% of the overall cost through our own fundraising projects, including this crowdfunding page.
