Story

As many of you will know, our gorgeous mum, Louise, has been living with Motor Neurone Disease for just over a year. For any that are not familiar with this disease, MND is a non-curable neurological condition that attacks nerves in the brain and spinal cord, effectively stopping muscles from working. Through all of this, our dad Marcus has become the most doting caretaker that you could imagine, but this vicious disease has many costs, impacting our family not only physically and emotionally, but also financially. A study performed in 2017 found that coping with Motor Neurone Disease costs families at least £12,000 out-of-pocket every year. We are no different, and anticipate these costs continuing to add up, which is how we have arrived at our ambitious £20,000 fundraising target.

We, as an extended family, have decided to embark on a fundraising mission in order to help offset these costs and ensure that Mum and Dad have the best possible support and care in place. So many of us have experienced their legendary kindness and selflessness, we're hoping that this gift will pay them back in turn.

Our fundraising drive will culminate on the 11th of April 2020, when a group of family and friends will hike a 16-mile section of the Norfolk Coast Path, from Blakeney to Burnham Overy Staithe. It's a stretch of land that means a huge deal to Marcus and Weezie - and they're even trying to come and join the group for part of the walk. It will be a motley crew of the fit and the not-very, dogs and kids and babies. If you'd like to join us, you are very welcome but our main objective is to raise meet our fundraising goal and ease the financial hardship of MND for Weezie and Marci.
