Weʼre raising £20,000 to Support WELCOME KITCHEN
- London, London Borough of Hackney, United Kingdom
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Welcome Kitchen is a collective of talented friends and refugee chefs who lovingly prepare delicious food from their home countries for our memorable supper club each month. This hard working group of single parents, and young families, are central to Welcome Cinema + Kitchen.
We are raising money to pay Welcome Kitchen for their hard work in the coming year. This includes a small wage, the cost of handpicked ingredients and a van to help them transport food and equipment to and from the venue. As the reputation of Welcome Kitchen grows so has interest for outside catering jobs. Money donated will also go toward helping them kick start an independent, sustainable business. Help us support this amazing team continue their amazing work!
Tickets to our main event are free to refugees and asylum seekers. Prices start at £19.50 for the general public. The cost of these tickets goes toward the running of the event and allows us to subsidise meals. Since November 2016 we have provided over 1000 hot dinners for free.
