Story

As a response to the ongoing war crimes and the complicity of the UK government and institution, a peaceful protest was held in Cardiff on 3rd June 2024.

A community member was un-lawfully arrested, from behind, in a threatening manner without prior warning. The concerned community went to Cardiff Bay Police Station to demand their release and voice concerns about police brutality and racism.

40+ police officers gathered and brutally arrested a further 15 community members. In total, the South Wales Police arrested 19 pro-Palestine activists (Cardiff19) in less than 48 hours Including a Palestinian mother and her 12 year old child, in Swansea, with the 12 year old being detained in a cell.

Cardiff19 were all charged with a range of charges from obstructing a public highway and locking on to another person. At the plea hearing in Cardiff Magistrate court on Wednesday 18th December 2024, all of the Cardiff19 pled not guilty to all charges. Cardiff19 face significant legal fees and need our support.

Please donate whatever you can and spread the link across the community to support our selfless comrades standing up for peace, justice, equality and an end to police brutality.

A statement to follow highlighting: anticipated fees, moving fundraising target, transparency, treatment of unallocated/ unspent funds.

Given the nature and scale of the legal challenge, a small proportion of the funds raised may be used for community engagement and public awareness.

Please note this platform charges a processing costs of 2.9% + 35p which are applied to each donation.
