I'm planning to help children who will be with parents at hospital while receiving treatments for cancer. I plan to go and buy lots of arts&crafts for the children to keep them busy while their parents, grandparents&other family members go through the hard part of their recovery. They can be creative make cards, pictures, finger puppets and anything that they find creative. It's hard for a parent to have to take children to see them go through any kind of treatment and then to see them go through the side effects at home. By helping out to do this I'm hoping to make up little bags of arts&crafts for the children to take home and to keep them being creative.
Many children don't understand why their mummy, daddy or even siblings need this to get well but if a parents can see the enjoyment in what the kids create then that definitely helps them smile. I would like to get all kinds of things children can enjoy such as making friendship bracelets for the new friends they will meet also make photo frames and pick a favourite photo of the one they love. I seen 1st hand that their was nothing for children to do in the cancer unit I attended. Hospitals are hard enough for Adults to be at but it's even harder on children especially if they have nothing to do.
No matter how small the donation you can make every effort to ensure that the children manage to get a playful couple of hours and make do methinks that pits a smile on there face is worth while.
