Story

We have a beautiful parish church serving the Highbury Estate in Cosham - used for regular worship and with monthly services for a local school, occasionally for a local college. It was built by Sir Ninian Comper and his son Sebastian. It is in Jenkins' '1000 best churches' and frequently mention by Sir John Betjeman. December 2016 cracks appeared in the organ loft ceiling. Fortunately we put a tarpaulin over the organ as some of the ceiling came down - see photo. The organ is now professionally cocooned but more of the ceiling has come down. We have a deficit budget so applied for grants, one of which was successful but the other was not. This means we are struggling to find the funds. We are also concerned that the weakness created will spread so we need to have the repair done as quickly as possible. We have a quote from a professional restorer. If you want to donate every little helps. We can supply with you a gift aid envelope and an address for cheques too. In both cases you can contact us via our email
