Weʼve raised £4,455 to Replenish D&T Department materials to make more CV19 visors
- Funded on Sunday, 2nd August 2020

Story
I am making face visors to give some additional protection to NHS doctors and nurses, and other frontline workers, who are having to come into close contact with CV19 patients or those with symptons of CV19. These are not medically procured, I am making them in my school D&T Department, but they will offer some additional protection from coughs and sneezes towards someone.
Although school has been great in allowing me to use up D&T Department resources, and I am happy to give my time, when I need to replenish resources to make more, this will eat into an already very stretched school budget. If you are willing to donate even a few pounds this will help me replenish resources, without worrying about the financial implications for my school. Any donation will be incredibly gratefully received.
My school is in Newbury, Berkshire and the masks will be initially supporting requests local to us, but I will also be attempting to support requests that have come from further afield.

3 years agoStill overwhelmed by your generosity, but to date, our D&T Collective has created 776 visors to fill 48 different care provider requests. The donations mean we can do this without worrying how it might impact the students we teach. Yes, we are giving our time, but it's the least we can do to support those trying to do their job. Once all material/equipment has been replenished, remaining money will be donated to The Royal Berks Charity and The Rainbow Rooms at West Berkshire Community Hospital. Thankyou once again for ALL your support.

3 years agoAll of you lovely, lovely people, I am overwhelmed and lost for words (unusual!). Once I have re-ordered supplies, if there is any amount up and above what is needed, I will either buy more materials to donate to the other West Berkshire D&T Departments who I have put out a plea to, to support the manufacturing of the visors (I am lead for the West Berkshire D&T Network), or will donate monies to The Royal Berks Charity, so the remainder will still be helping the NHS to do their amazing work. #NHSHeroes #NHSThankYou
