Story

In memory of my beautiful friend of 38 years, Jo Griffith, who very sadly passed away last year, I will be shaving my head on 24 August to raise funds for two very worthy charities close to her heart, Cynthia Spencer and Second Hope.

Jo was originally diagnosed with primary breast cancer which she bravely overcame but was unfortunately later diagnosed with incurable secondary cancer.

The cover photo was taken at Ascot on one of our many girls trips over our friendship with a very special group of friends.

I first met Jo at Roade School when we had both recently moved to Northampton from London and bonded over our "southerness". My last memories of Jo are on my 50th birthday trip to Berlin just before Jo passed away. It was not an easy trip for Jo but she still managed to smile and joke whilst holding on to life and ensuring the best was made of each moment. I was so glad she was there and very touched that she made the extreme effort to come with us.

Jo was a keen supporter of Second Hope charity raising large funds herself for this charity. It is the only UK charity specifically for people living with advanced breast cancer.

The second charity, Cynthia Spencer Hospice, is where Jo, unfortunately, spent her last days but I know that they were amazing and continue to support her family.

I have set this page up with the full support of Tom, Oliver, Charles, Jo's Mum Hazel and sister Andrea.

All donations no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated and funds raised will be divided equally between the two charities.
