Across Darlington and Co Durham, thousands of students are taught all kinds of music by fantastic teachers of the Durham Music Service. The service provides opportunities to play brass, woodwind, percussion as well as singjng and sign language singing.

Music is so important to young people, so much can be expressed through music, and music can be so calming and relaxing and feeds the soul. The ability to play an instrument or to sing is so life affirming.

There are hundreds of groups and ensembles in Big Band Jazz, flute choir, orchestras, choral groups, primary recorder groups and samba drums. There are concerts, show cases and international tours as well as important national competitions.

i am aiming to raise money for the newly founded Durham Music Trust so they can carry on this amazing work.
