Hi my name is Dean Roberts.
A few weeks ago I said if England win the world cup I would walk back from skeggy to Leicester dressed as Mrs Brown. Although the 3 lions didn't do it I am still going to do the walk. Along with some friends Jade Roberts, Deena Goodwin,Georgia Kent,Kevin Sadler, Danny Bee who will also be dressing up, I am raising money for 3 fantastic causes, the first one which I chose myself is for a young lad who lives over the road from me, he suffers with autism,I asked his mam if there was anything he wanted and she said he would love a bike but don't think his legs are strong enough to ride one, so we have decided that if I can raise enough I am going to buy him a battery operated car or quad bike,so he will be able to go out and play with his brothers, The other 2 causes I put to a public vote on my Facebook page and the 2 most voted for would be were the money will go. The most popular one was David I hopes Xmas fund were we take our sleigh up to the LRI along with loads of presents for the poorly kids who are hospitalised at Xmas. And the second most voted for was Leicestershire Air Ambulance.
Now most of you that know me no I have done many fundraising events over the years and help to raise thousands of pounds for many differant causes, but without a shadow of doubt this will be my hardest challenge yet and will prob break me. It is approx 82 miles non stop setting off from skeggness on Sat 18th Aug and returning to the conny club Thurmaston on Sun 19th Aug.
So if you can spare a couple of pound I would very much appreciate it.
If you feel like having a ride out and jeering us along please do so or you could turn up at the conny club when we arrive back to join us for a couple of well deserved beers.
