    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

At least 22 people have been killed and 59 injured after a terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena.

Manchester Evening News readers have been asking how they can help, so we have started this fund to help support the families in the aftermath of the attack.

The money raised by the Manchester Evening News and its readers will be administered by the British Red Cross, who are offering support to affected families. All of it will go to the families.

We are so grateful for the support so far and can't thank the people of Manchester enough. If you are a company wishing to make a larger donation please email website@men-news.co.uk and we'll be in touch.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to this fund. We are so grateful for your support. We are going to close this page shortly in order to be able to distribute the money we've raised together. This will be transferred to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. The money we have raised, along with the We Love Manchester appeal funds, have already started to be distributed. We have been assured by the British Red Cross that every penny raised by our fund will go to the families of those affected by Monday’s terrible attack. It will form part of the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, launched by Manchester City Council and British Red Cross. Together we can make the greatest impact to help people affected by this devastating attack. Manchester City Council and British Red Cross both have experience in administering funds in emergencies and we want to make sure people get the help they need as soon as possible.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far - we are overwhelmed by the kindness of our readers. The Manchester Evening News will transfer all of our donations to the British Red Cross when fundraising has ended, which will ensure that the funds go to the families who need it. We would like to say a huge thank you to you for donating and sharing, to all of the companies who have backed the campaign and made donations and to JustGiving, whose records we have not only broken but doubled in terms of visitors to site at one time.
