Story
Members of Westerleigh Judokwai will be walking, running & jogging the Westminster Mile in London again this September to raise funds for the club and for London's Evelina Children's hospital. We have 1 athlete who is a full time wheelchair user who will be completing the challenge by walking with support of another member holding her arm. This will be a huge challenge for her! We also have Learning Disabled athletes taking part supported by mainstream athletes, volunteers and carers.
Money raised will help support the club with vital funds which are needed to continue our work as an inclusive judo club. We support athlete’s and their families across a wide area of East Sussex giving them opportunities to fulfil their potential, increase their confidence and improve their health and well-being.
The Evelina Hospital is a charity close to the club’s heart as we have a number of athletes who have been long term patients of the hospital, and we are delighted to be raising funds for this amazing charity again.
The money raised from this challenge will be spilt equally between Westerleigh and the Evelina Children’s Hospital and we thank you for any donation you can make to us.
