Story
Hello people of Weston and Portland!
This telephone box was scheduled for removal in September 2018, however we were determined not to let this happen!
Weymouth Operatic Society are a registered charity and have adopted the phone box for the community of Weston and Portland in general.
We are setting up this Just Giving page for the restoration and maintenance of it. Some panes of glass need replacing and it needs a few coats of paint!
We have a few ideas for what we could use it for such as a pop up art gallery, book exchange or a place to sell local homemade produce😊
Any donations, however small, will be greatly appreciated!

6 years agoHuge thanks to Claire and Nick Bool on the fantastic start to the restoration! Already starting to look good thanks to them giving up their time and effort to do this for us. The target has been reached and exceeded, but to maintain the phone box, we will need this extra to help restore properly and make it a beautiful thing to look at!

6 years agoThe paint has been rubbed down, broken windows removed and wire- brushed ready for washing down and painting! With only £20 to go to reach our target, we would just like to thank everyone who has donated so far. It's at times like these when we know there is a real community spirit and this is one of the main aims of purchasing this phone box. Keep spreading the word and we will update you with somegreat pictures on our very own FaceBook page! Thank you once again x

Pleased to see part of our local heritage being retained. I lived in Weston overlooking this phone box for 30+ years, and spent lots of time queueing up outside it!
