Story

Lots of you will know I lost my Uncle Matthew to cancer earlier this year. I am one of those fortunate people who don't come into contact with death very often and I know that that in its self is a blessing, but losing my uncle introduced me to the incredible work that hospice nurses do. Our nurse, Gwen, greeted us all after our long journey from Yorkshire to Weston- Super- Mare. Gwen filled us in on the; support, conversations, appointments, friendship she had given Matthew in his final days. Can you imagine a job where you can have no preconception or judgement, where you walk your patient to the door of life and say good-bye while smiling and welcoming their family. Gwen has been a little inspiration for me, if I was saying my last good bye I'd like her to hold my hand. Please help me raise money for the support that nurses like Gwen give, they're invaluable.
