Story
The Sportathon is a 24 hour challenge aimed at providing students with a sustained physical challenge, whilst also providing the PE curriculum area with much needed opportunity to raise sponsorship money to buy additional sports equipment for our students to use.
The Sportathon starts at 7am with selected staff and students exercising in the fitness suite. At 9am students in their normal PE lessons take on the challenge until 3:20pm. At this time only those students who have signed up for the Sportathon begin a series of rotations through approximately 15 different sports throughout the night. The students complete against each other in teams, providing not only an element if competition but also to share sporting values.
