I've raised £4000 to help send a team of young dancers from Weymouth to the Dance World Cup 2020 in Rome.

A fabulous team of 14 young dancers from Weymouth Dance Studio (WDS) has been selected to represent Team England at the Dance World Cup 2020 in Rome.
The Dance World Cup is the largest dance competition in the world, with more than 6000 dancers from 60 countries taking part.
Team England are the current world champions, having won the coveted Dance World Cup Trophy six years in a row.
Thousands of dancers auditioned to be part of Team England, but only three dancers/duets/groups were chosen in each class.
We're so proud that Weymouth Dance Studio successfully qualified six dances for Team England: two group routines, two duets and two solos - with a contemporary routine and a song and dance performance in each class.
This year's WDS team follows in the footsteps of last year's exciting Dance World Cup experience.
It's such a fantastic and exciting opportunity for our local students (aged 13-19) to showcase their talents and represent Weymouth on the international stage.
But entering and attending the competition isn't cheap. To get the team there we need to raise £4,000. This will fund the dancers' competition entry fees and team kit. Any funds left over will go towards the team's flights to Italy (we estimate our final costs for all 14 dancers, including entry fees, uniforms, flights and accommodation to be in the region of £10,000).
We're planning lots of events to raise money, including:
- performing at and organising a raffle for an Atlantic Aspirations Academy showcase
- hosting a raffle at Bournemouth and Poole College
- holding a costume sale
- organising a quiz night
- baking cakes for a Thomas Hardye School cake sale
- seeking sponsorship from local businesses.
If you'd like to support us we truly appreciate your donation, big or small. Every single pound helps us get a little nearer to our goal - thank you for helping us!
We're so excited about representing Weymouth and England in this global competition and we hope you can support us to fulfil this fantastic opportunity.
