Story

5th May - Moel Famau - Sponsored walk

The International WGA team will carry their Widnes Gymnastic flag to the top of Moel Famau.

Moel Famau is the highest hill (not quite tall enough tp be a mountain) in the Clwydiam range, its highest point is 1821 feet high and a 6km walk to the summit.

The aim is to raise as much money as possible for the Widnes Gymnastic Academy as they send a squad of gymnasts aged from 5 to 17 to the USAIGC international competition in Orlando, Florida in June 2024.

Based on the number of girls looking to head out to Orlando, and using approximate costing from previous years we think we will need to raise approx. £20,000. This is without travel, accommodation and fees.

WGA is special, Its more than just a gymnastics club. . Once you see the bond the girls have with each other, how savage they are as competitors , but how much they cheer each other on when their team mates are in action it's amazing to see and words don't do it justice

But that's only part of it, The coaches and how much they care about the girls is above and beyond anything you expect to see from a sports clubs. They pick the girls up when they fall, wipe away tears when they are upset and help them build confidence in ways that are far more important than just gymnastics related :

Thank you for any donations that you can spare, no matter how small as it all adds up to make a big difference
