I've raised £1000 to Help buy a special wheelchair for a brave little boy who just wants to have some fun! Total cost £4,500 Family on target to raise £3500 x

My little cousin Callum has just had the best weekend after his family were able to hire a specialist wheelchair which allowed him to play out in the fields and woods and just have what every little boy should be able to take for granted "FUN!"
please read on.....
On the 10th of June I will be entering the Great North Swim and swimming across Lake Windermere. I have never attempted anything like this in my life! I am not a particularly strong swimmer, and am certainly not very fit. I am 53 years old and, dare I say "obese!" Selfishly, I am going to take this opportunity to lose some weight and get fit (well - fitter!) So thank you Katie (my daughter) for the lovely birthday surprise - which was entering me to take on the challenge!
However, on a less selfish note I'm hoping my efforts will help raise funds to help little Callum have his very own wheelchair which will help him have fun when ever he wants to - like every little boy should be able to! Every donation will be greatly appreciated, but please only give what you can afford "Every Penny Will Help!"
more about Callum by his lovely mum Kelly.....
Callum was born at 32 weeks and unfortunately suffered a brain injury. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 4 weeks old. He is also visually impaired. He has been looked after in the community by physios, occupational and speech therapists since the age of 6 months. He has undergone numerous operations including Botox (2013) selective dorsal rhiziotomy (March 2014) and multilevel orthopaedic surgery in Sept 2016. Callum has always been very determined and never lets his disability get in his way. He will have a go at absolutely anything. He is Evertons number one fan and loves playing football, he plays for Everton in the community and cerebral palsy football in Oldham. The most important thing in Cals life is having his own independence...since his last operation he has had to do intense physio therapy to keep his muscles strong and this was his most difficult operation emotionally and physically and as a family it was one of the hardest parts of Cals life. We have 4 dogs and he loves to walk these with his dad but can only do this On a dry day and has to keep to the path. Callum has a powered wheelchair (in school) and a Manual Wheelchair for home..the Wheelchair at home Restricts him to the path and Dad has to push him as he gets blisters on his thumbs...this mountain trike let’s him explore any terrain and he has easy handles to move it forward. This weekend he has been on grass, sand, mud, the woods and gravel he can also propel himself up and down hills and curbs.
Callum makes everyone smile! His determination and bravery makes me proud every day - he is a true inspiration!
