I'm raising £1000 to Getting me (safely) out of my house, with my kids

Story

Hi, I’m Jen, also known as Wheelie Chronic online.

I’m a full-time wheelchair user, a mum of two brilliant (and very energetic) children, and someone who has spent far too long being stuck on the wrong side of a window.

I'm currently in temporary accommodation and unable to leave my house independently.

The pavements around my home aren’t just “a bit uneven” they’re genuinely dangerous. I’ve been thrown from my wheelchair multiple times and have needed medical assistance because of it. That’s not dramatic. That’s just my reality.

Because of that, I’ve already spent over a year watching my children play outside.

Not with them. Not beside them.

Just… watching.

And I CANNOT do another summer like that, if there is any other option.

I want to be out there with them. I want to leave my house safely and independently. I want something as basic as fresh air and time with my kids to not feel like a high-risk activity.

I want to be able to go to my daughters school without having to pull her out to take me home. Be able to go to the shop and get milk. Simple things.

To do that, I need equipment that makes my wheelchair safe on rough ground.

The equipment I’m fundraising for:

♿️ RGK Front Wheel – A front attachment that lifts my small wheelchair casters off the ground, stopping them getting stuck in potholes and uneven pavements (which is one of the main reasons I’ve been thrown from my chair).

♿️ Loopwheels/Spinergy wheelies – Suspension wheels designed to absorb impact from bumps and rough terrain, helping protect my already unstable spine from constant jolting and pain.

♿️ Power Attachment (e.g. Batec / Front Drive/ Triride) – A powered front add-on that lifts the front of my wheelchair and drives it electronically, reducing strain on my shoulders and helping prevent dislocations so I can move independently and safely.

Each of these isn’t about comfort, it’s about safety, independence, and being able to actually be present in my children’s lives.

The amount raised will determine what I’m able to get, and every step forward makes a difference.

I know times are hard right now, and I don’t take asking for help lightly. Truly.

If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this would mean just as much.

But if you can help (even a little) you’re not just funding equipment.

You’re helping a mum get back outside with her children.

You’re giving me independence.

You’re giving my kids their mum back in their world, not just watching from a window.

And that means everything.

Thank you for reading 💜💚
