I've raised £2400 to help our son buy a lightweight wheelchair that will help him to keep up with his friends, join in with sports and become independent.

Story

Angus was born 7 years ago with Spina Bifida. He had a large lesion on his lower back that left his spinal cord exposed meaning he needed surgery on day one of his little life to to close up his back. The damage to his spine has left him unable to walk for very far and very unsteady on his feet. Spina Bifida is so complex and affects him in so many different ways - in his short life so far he has dealt with so much. The wheelchair he currently has is very heavy and does not allow him to keep up with his friends or join in with sports. He desperately needs the opportunity to get more exercise, make friends and become independent in his mobility.

Unfortunately lightweight wheelchairs are not supplied on the NHS and cost thousands of pounds which we don't have. As his parents its really hard to not be able to provide him with something that would so dramatically improve his confidence and independence which is why we are asking for this funding. Angus is such a fantastic, determined little man and this chair would change his life.
