I've raised £9250 to recycle 370 wheelchairs and put them back into use for disabled Palestinians in need. That is £25 per chair including delivery.

One mans junk is another mans treasure. In third world countries less than 10% of disabled people who need a wheelchair actually have access to one. Meaning the lives of millions of people are effected - with a knock on effect on their their families and carers. In third world countries disabled people face unimaginable barriers to fullfliing their potential and if you combine that with poverty and conflict - in places such as Palestine and Palestinian refugees they often have no life at all.
Many simply can’t afford a wheelchair which cost between £300-£500 new. Recycling a good quality used wheelchair costs as little as £25 and includes end recipient delivery - based on a container of 370 wheelchairs.
In 2016, Wheels to Heal, with the help of the World Health Organisation and the generosity of donors and volunteers and supporters sent a container of 280 wheelchairs which was successfully received and distributed by three charities in Gaza, Palestine to the disabled in need.
In 2018 we aim to repeat this project with a larger container and distribute to disbaled Palestinians in need of mobility.
