Story

Myself, Chris and Sam have known each other since the age of 11 and despite his condition Sam always has a smile on his face when you see him out and about in his chair. At a very young age Sam was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and for the vast majority of his 27 years he has been in a wheel chair.

Having spoken to him recently I learned that although we see this positive side of him, he is often in a lot of pain and discomfort.

When he posted his fundraising campaign to get a better chair I instantly wanted to see if I could help in getting him to his target, but also wanted to get him involved in an experience also.

I approached him with the idea and he instantly replied "YES!"

Sam spends up to 18 hours each day sat in the same chair and with this new one he will be so much more comfortable. It will also give him much more freedom to get around his house, travel further without the risk of battery failure and give him the ability to raise himself up so that he can communicate and socialise with people easier.

This event will be so much more than raising money.

Taking Sam to the top of a mountain will provide an unforgettable experience for him. Metaphorically he has conquered so many mountains already and with his new ambitious plans he will be conquering many more in the future!
