Story

150 people are diagnosed with breast cancer everyday. That’s 55,000 women and 370 men each year. We’ve felt the harsh reality of this fact following a recent diagnosis very close to our team.

Education, regular checks and speed of diagnosis can have an immeasurable impact which is why our next event on September 2nd will support 2 charities that focus on exactly that. Introducing Future Dreams and Breast Cancer Kent:

Future Dreams provides breast cancer support, education, awareness and research. Founded in 2008 by mother and daughter, Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie. By a cruel twist of fate, they were both diagnosed with breast cancer, Danielle aged just 35 and a mother of three young children. Tragically both women lost their lives to secondary breast cancer within a year of each other in 2009. Their legacy lives on at Future Dreams and the thousands of people the charity supports every year 🧡

Breast Cancer Kent aims to improve the lives of those diagnosed with breast cancer by funding projects, equipment and research. They support the work of the NHS Medical Teams at the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Breast Care Units, Kent Oncology Centre and the University of Kent School of biosciences. They are currently raising funds to purchase a machine that gives biopsy results in seconds, giving more people the opportunity to test and treat breast cancer earlier 💛

The fundraising event will take place in Hackney, London at the well-known venue Studio 9294. Starting at 5pm and ending at 4am, the event will feature our resident DJs playing the latest in electronic music, including house, techno, disco, trance, acid and breaks. The profits from the event will be split between these 2 charities.

For those of you that would like to come to the event and dance together in the fight against breast cancer, you can purchase a ticket on Resident Advisor via the following link: https://ra.co/events/1726003
