Bobby was found by Whispering Willows Sanctuary. On arrival this poor boy was motionless on the floor with shallow breathing and a weak pulse and clearly emaciated. After spending time massaging him to get his circulation going and rubbing syrup into his gums he managed to roll onto his side allowing the team to get straps round him. With the big team of people Bobby was lifted to his feet and half carried onto the horse box and traveled home. Lisa from Dyffryn Tywi Equine Clinic was waiting for Bobby, immediately set up a drip and began providing life saving treatment for Bobby. Blood and urine samples were rushed back to clinic and within an hour the results came back clear. The bloods however did show a very high level of muscle enzymes which meant that Bobby had been down for some time.

If Bobby survives this critical period he will need veterinary treatment for various other health issues due to the neglect he has suffered including severe dental treatment. At this moment Bobby is struggling to eat solid food, Is slurping sloppy wet feeds and has swellings on the side of his face where his teeth have holes in them allowing food pouches to build.
