Story

RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON 2018 FOR WHITECREST PRESCHOOL

Whitecrest Pre-School has been running for over 45 years. It was created at a time when Whitecrest School was in danger of having to close due to diminishing attendance numbers. The primary purpose of this service was to ease the transition into school for children approaching school attendance age.

Pat started three years after the Pre-school was up and running and has volunteered her services whilst her children attended the school. Carol joined not long after. They have since volunteered for over 10 years working to make it the established and official charity it is today.

Pat and Carol have worked tirelessly to ensure the children have received the best quality care and education.

Both my children have attended the preschool and have benefited immensely.

Unlike many preschool schemes Whitecrest Pre-School is not run on a commercial basis. Due to budget restrictions it is proving increasingly difficult to manage the overall finances, in particular the activities provided.

I am very fortunate and grateful that my children have had the opportunity to grow and develop under Pat and Carol. I feel they been given the best transition into School.

I feel it would be a shame for children to miss the maximum service entitled to them from Pat and Carol. Therefore I have decided to run the London Marathon 2018 to raise funds for Whitecrest Pre-School. The marathon is no easy task, it will involve some dedicated training 4-5 times a week, cold 20 mile runs then eventually running the 26.2 marathon distance!

Please dig deep and donate what you can. Pat and Carol have an important role helping with childrens transition into School and the money will go a long way to ensure the maximum services can be provided.

Any monies raised will go towards funding trips and activities for the children.

Thankyou.
