Weʼve raised £1,060 to Help the Wight Jewels Senior Synchronised Skating Team fund the season. Including international competitions & travelling to training!

Funded on Friday, 9th December 2016

Don't have time to donate right now?

We are the Wight Jewels Senior Synchronised Skating Team, we have been British Champions at Junior Level 4 times and have won silver at senior level last season. We have competed at worlds on 3 different occasions and have been international gold medalists. Our aim to strive for success and to compete with the best programmes possible. To do this we went to Sweden for an intense skate camp in August to work with one of the best coaches in the world to perfect our programmes for the upcoming season.

A few days ago the devastating and unexpected news our rink on the Isle of Wight was shut down. This then makes it even harder for us to train regularly as a team. We have several competitions lining up, one of which is on the 5th/6th November in Cardiff and this also includes the British Championships in January. Due to our rink being shut down we are now having to travel to train at Bracknell Ice Rink.

The rink being shut down has now put more barriers in our way for this season, including more cost for travel additionally cost going to towards ice hire. As well as having to pay for competitions, new dresses, makeup and hair pieces.

We did not want to give on this season as a team, we have decided to carry on even with the problems at our rink. We have a love and passion for this sport aswell as eachother. With the season starting so close we did not want all of our hard pre-season work to go to waste!

If you can help us out by donating a small or large amount to our team it would be greatly appreciated. Or contact us on our Facebook page (WightJewelsGB) for any information about Sponsorship! We have 60 days to reach our target, so please help us!

    Thank you very much

With only 21 days until our crowd funding page left please help us reach our target! Just to give you an update on the team, 2 weekends ago the team competed in Cardiff coming 3rd in the Senior Category. We're so proud and grateful to be able to still represent the Isle of Wight despite the closure of our ice rink. We also had to re-choreograph both programmes and learn new places less than 24 hours before the competition due to injury. We are now training hard ready for the British Championships in January in Nottingham!
