Hi everyone

We are committed at Wildwoods to safeguarding the well being of both you and the team from Covid 19 infection. From the announcement of the second lockdown based upon independent advice we received, we determined that once again we had to close our doors to friends and family.

That decision was made even harder consequent upon misleading and conflicting statements that have lead to the belief that Riding Centres did not need to close.

That requirement has now been confirmed. Riding Centres must remain closed other than to teach vocational students taking BHS Stage 2 and above on a one-to-one basis. The additional cost of staffing to accomodate this is not justified and we are keeping to minimal staff to care for the horses and will remain closed until 2nd December.

Unlike the last time we were in lockdown, we don‘t have the spring and summer grass to help and need to supplement the lack of grazing with additional hay. We face even tougher challenges, as due to the relentless rain we had throughout most of October and winter fast approaching, we need to keep as many of our horses stabled, to have any hope of saving the fields. This all results in more feed, bedding and running costs.

So, once again, we are reaching out to family and friends and everyone both young and old who over the years has ridden at Wildwoods Riding Centre to help support Wildwoods and our four legged friends.

Our appeal during the last lockdown left us speechless. It made such a difference. We were all blown away by your support, it was so amazing to know we had so many people who cared about Wildwoods, the horses and ponies.

When it is safe to do so, we will all be waiting; the team, horses and ponies, to welcome you back when we can open the gates again, to take up the reins, get back in the saddle and to enjoy the pleasure that riding brings to us all.
