Lung diseases and others like them are serious problems in our aging UK population, which affect us and those around us more and more as time goes on. These conditions can be debilitating and often leave those with them bedridden and unable to live life to the fullest. My grandma had lung cancer in the years leading up to her death, and it impacted her quality of life massively. Research into prevention and treatment of lung cancer and other diseases of the lung is vital, and the British Lung Foundation is devoting important research to that cause.

The Foundation for Liver Research was established in 1974 to develop and extend research into diseases of the human liver. Liver Disease is the one chronic disorder that's increasing in frequency with a steady rise in deaths each year. Not many people realise the devastating effects and deteriorating quality of life Liver disease gives, which I experienced first-hand with my grandpa in the years leading up to his death. The Foundation for Liver Research is an amazing charity that carries out life changing research in a field that is very important to me and close to my heart. The Foundation runs solely on donations so every penny helps them continue their great work.
