Story

What he's up to

Will has decided to sign up to join Camps International on a 4 week expedition to Costa Rica after his GCSEs next year. While he is out their he will travel round to various community projects designed to provide sustainable solutions to local issues. This could include creating tree nurseries, building greenhouse, classrooms or toilets for locals.

Our reforestation efforts have established at least 1.1 million extra trees since 2003. (Camps International)

Why?

Will saw this opportunity through school and wanted to get involved. The opportunity to travel to such an amazing country coupled with the challenges of the expedition, matched with the ability to support others offered a once in a life time trip. He was keen to sign up and use the time after his GCSE's to explre and help others.

It sounds fun and the projects, they seem interesting. (Will)

Fundraising

Before Will can head out he has over £4000 to raise to cover the costs of the expedition. 41% of the money he is raising is for the expedition eg flights and insurance. 38% has direct imapact in the communities through the projects and the staff employed in Costa Rica, the last 21% goes to Camps International, which is a social enterprise business, and covers their costs.

So far Will has been raising money selling second hand books online and at events, making and selling paracord keyrings, competions such as 'Guess the Number of Sweets in the Jar' and odd jobs. He has had some donations from family and friends but still has a long way to go.

If you or your business would like to donate to support Will in his efforts to raise the money he needs to take this opportunity we really appreciate you help.

Thank You
