I've raised £8000 to donate equally between The British Liver Trust, Crohn’s & Colitis Uk & The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Charity

Hi, I'm sure many of you already know my story, however for those that don't here we go ... I was first diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2009 and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis in 2011. Which as a result would require me to need a liver transplant at some stage in my life. In December 2016 I was referred for a liver transplant assessment which I attended February 2017. The doctors met and discussed my situation, they agreed that it was too early for me to go on the transplant list. In May 2017 my health took a huge downturn and after visiting the hospital, the doctors decided that it was the right time for me to go onto the transplant list. I then successfully received a liver transplant on the 8th July 2017 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. I spent 2 days in intensive care after the operation under 24 hour watchful eye of the dedicated staff. Following this I was transferred to the Liver Unit where I remained for the next 9 days, once again receiving some of the best care. On July 18th I was discharged from hospital just 11 days in total after transplant. I am now at home recovering, visiting clinic once per week for scans and tests to ensure the correct function of the liver. So far everything is looking good but my recovery has only just begun, I still have a long way to go. Therefore I am setting up this page to raise money and awareness for three different charities all personal to myself and my journey. They include 'British Liver Trust', 'Crohn's & Colitis UK' & 'Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity'. All donation's made will be split equally between the three charities which have all played a part in my life at some stage or another. Alongside this I am planning a charity evening on the 10th November 2017. Those interested in attending please contact me privately via my mobile (07753130191) or social media.
My final thoughts and condolences are with the family of who's liver I gratefully received.
