Story
My name is William and I’m 13. I’ve been lucky enough to be selected from a selection weekend as 1 of 27 Scouts to represent Cornwall at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia USA in 2019. I will be joining 45,000 Scouts from over 150 countries and the theme of the Jamboree is Peace-Friendship-Adventure.
Over the next 18 months I will be attending a number of training weekends with other Scouts from across Cornwall and Jersey to learn the skills we will need in preparation for the Jamboree, such as team building and demonstrating our culture to Scouts from across the world.
Fundraising is a massive part of my journey to make this life changing event possible for me. To make all this happen, as well as Group Fundraising with the Unit, I personally need to raise £2000 by June 2019 and that’s where I’m hoping you can help.
I have already started fundraising and will be doing everything from bag packing to sponsored walks, coffee mornings, car boot sales, raffles and a music event.
If you are able to help with a donation I would be really grateful. Any donation, however small, will take me one step closer to West Virginia.
A specially commissioned T-shirt will be worn to thanks all those that have helped make this dream possible.
Thank you
